1) Litigation/Pre-litigation: For use in connection with any civil, criminal, administrative, or arbitral proceeding in any federal, state, or local court or agency or before any self-regulatory body, including the service of process, investigation in anticipation of litigation, and the execution or enforcement of judgments and orders, or pursuant to an order of a federal, state, or local court.
2) Debt Recovery/Fraud Investigation: For use in the normal course of business by a legitimate business or its agents, employees, or contractors, but only—
(a) to verify the accuracy of personal information submitted by the individual to the business or its agents, employees, or contractors; and
(b) if such information as so submitted is not correct or is no longer correct, to obtain the correct information, but only for the purposes of preventing fraud by, pursuing legal remedies against, or recovering on a debt or security interest against, the individual.
3) Government Agency: Use by a government agency, but only in carrying out its functions.
4) On Government Behalf: Use by any person acting on behalf of a government or law enforcement agency, but only in carrying out the agency’s functions.
5) Insurer/Claims Investigation: Use by an insurer or insurance support organization, or by a self-insured entity, or its agents, employees, or contractors in connection with claim investigation activities, anti-fraud activities, rating or underwriting.
6) Motor Vehicle Safety: In connection with motor vehicle safety or theft, or driver safety (except by or for a motor vehicle manufacturer).
7) Employment: Use by an employer or its agents or insurer to obtain or verify information relating to a holder of a commercial driver’s license that is required under Chapter 313 of Title 49 of the United States Code.
8) Towing/Impounded Vehicle: For use in providing notice to the owners of towed or impounded vehicles.
9) Private Investigator: Use by a licensed private investigative agency or licensed security service for a purpose permitted in one of the items listed above.
10) Consumer Authority: Written consent of individual. (Copy of signed consent must be faxed to Docusearch prior to the request being filled.)

Great site. Highly highly recommended. They provided me with very accurate and up to date info. My friends and I were tracking down an abandoned motorcycle that had been stolen. We googled the plates the vin and the description of the bike. No luck. Then we found docusearch. We found the owner and now the owner is happily riding his recovered motorcycle.

I'm blown away by the overall positive experience with my tag search! My results were delivered in 2 hours. I have no doubt they are accurate, as all of the known details (addresses, last name, sex of the subject) match perfectly. Essentially I just needed to verify the correct spelling of first and last names and this service fit the bill perfectly. BTW, I did ask the State DMV about this, and their turn-around is 14 days. Great service. The person I was looking for broke into my home and burglarized it. Fortunately a neighbor was able to get the license plate number, and I was able to use your service to find out who the car is registered to, and able to forward that information onto law enforcement, who were unable to locate anyone with the information in their records. Now that the police know who to look for, I'm one step closer to getting this resolved!

Here's what I got: Her FULL name and address, the car's vin#, make, model, style, body type, net weight, registration issue date, title issue date, title number, odometer reading, plate number (had that), and plate issue date. I highly recommend this search, because she has a weird name and if you file it wrong, it won't go on their credit report for the next SEVEN to TEN YEARS. You cannot hide your identity from me anymore, neighbor! See you in court.

Excellent service. I was reluctant to use this service, but I'm glad I did. Hit and run in a parking lot. I had a witness that gave me the plate #, make and model. And the rest is history. The car is repaired paid by the careless driver that fled the scene, thinking she got away with it. You should've seen her face when I pulled up to her home with the car she hit 4 days earlier. Well worth $44. :). Thanks

If you think there are a lot of BAD plate search sites on the web - you are RIGHT. There are consequences for using those bad site. Docusearch is accurate and fully protects the client. Read Wikipedia - its one of the very few sites they recommend. I have had great results and will use no other site.

Docusearch is by far the best online resource for people who have a high priority on accuracy and verification of facts. Not only does Docusearch do what they say they will do,... they do it FAST. They operate an unlicensed swimming pool company (in Arizona) and ripped us off for sum of money we cannot afford to lose (we are on social security). They hide behind a mailing address and give a fake last name. We finally had a friend who had a pool call the company to come over and give him an estimate. Even though I still think $39 is a lot, I got what I was looking for in only about 45 minutes (advised it could take 1-2 business days). So... overall, very fast, reliable, and I would definitely use on a regular basis if it was just a little less expensive. Thank you!

The website said by the end of the business day, so I was pretty pleasantly surprised. It included the VIN number of the Vehicle, when the registration was issued, and the Full Name and address of the person the car is currently and legally registered to (also, the make, and how many cylinders, but not the model or color- which depending on your case, could be an issue. but it wasn't for me) I will definitely be using this service again in the future!!

I had signed up for other Vehicle search websites like eVerify and others but then I came to the realization that by common sense, that kind of thing does not exist. By law, there is not a place you can search up license plates like that for such a cheap price. DocuSearch is an accurate and legitimate means of searching that abides by legal constraints, according to the legitimate reason you are searching. Will stick to DocuSearch forever!

Now It will be easier to contact her for a civil suit and to use the photographs for a restraining order, and to show she lives no where near my home.

Had a scenario at home where I suspected the excuse-laden 21 year old still living at home was lying yet again. This time I decided to verify the story. Docusearch provided the information in a very timely fashion ( less than 48 hours ), was accurate, and in my opinion was money well spent. Terrific experience, and I wouldn't hesitant to recommend to a friend or to use again if needed. And yes, the 21 year old was lying.

Dead serious - Don't be fooled by all of the cheesey sites that promise unlimited searches for a monthly fee, etc... Docusearch is STOUT. It did did exactly what it said it was going to in the time frame in which it asserted it would do it. Docusearch did a great job for me in hunting down some data I needed for an academic paper that was time sensitive. Love'em!

Hi, I found out about docusearch. My car had a hit and run while parked in Boston A passerby saw it and left a note with the name plate. However the passerby did not leave any other info including about himself to act as a witness I contacted police and they referred me to my insurance co. They said it is a 50/50 chance. I contacted docusearch and within 3-4 business days got my results back with all the info I needed to get in touch with the person who hit my car. Fortunately the gentleman was good and said whatever it takes he will do the needful. Thanks to this service I am getting my car fixed.

Need to know who’s lurking behind that District of Columbia license plate? The answer is only a few mouse clicks away. Unfortunately, though, if you make those mouse clicks on the wrong website, you could end up with a major mess on your hands!
Google the term “Washington DC license plate search“, and you’ll have thousands of results staring back at you. The majority of them are from websites that promise to give you cheap, instant results so that you can get the information you need and get on your way.
The only problem? It’s not nearly that simple!
The DC Department of Motor Vehicles will only release current information to law enforcement and licensed private investigators. So, if you’re searching on a random website, you’re not going to be able to find out who the registered owner of a specific license plate is — no matter what kind of fancy sales pitch they give you! Instead, you have to turn to a team of licensed private investigators to uncover the information for you.
What exactly can they dig up?
As long as you’ve got a DC license plate number (or a VIN number), licensed private investigators can see who the registered owner is, where the registered owner lives, along with information about the specific car the license plate is attached to — like the make, model, year, and even any lien holders that are associated with it. And, if you don’t already have the VIN number, your team of investigators will be able to get that for you, too.
How long will a DC License plate lookup take?
Good private investigators know better than to take shortcuts. Instead of relying on software and other automated tools, they do their District of Columbia license plate search by hand.
