Anatomy of a Locate Search

Private investigators are paid millions of dollars each year for the single purpose of finding the current location of another. Just like any other profession, this requires specialized knowledge, training, experience, and the proper location tools. These tools may be derived from a number of different resources; some readily accessible, some not. Docusearch offers our clients access to multiple resources which, until now; have been extremely difficult to obtain and unaffordable. When used wisely, these resources will most often provide successful results.

The Successful Locate Search

A successful locate search is ultimately determined by several factors:

Available Resources
What tools do you have at your disposal which will aid your search? Docusearch obtains information supplied by hundreds of different sources. National service bureaus, DMV agencies, financial institutions, privately owned repositories, just to name a few. These are the same sources used by top private investigators and information providers.

Accuracy of Information
I'm sure you have heard the expression, "Garbage In, Garbage Out". The vast majority of all unsuccessful searches can be attributed to incorrect, inaccurate or obsolete subject information. We are proud to offer the lowest search prices available, anywhere. For this to continue, our researchers must assume that all submitted subject data you enter, is 100% accurate and error-free. This includes the proper spelling of all names and addresses. Be absolutely certain to provide the correct information, at the time your order is submitted. This cannot be stressed enough!!

Age of Information
Be mindful that even though credit bureaus will normally supply the most current information, most will purge address data older than 10 years. In these instances, selecting a search that utilizes a broader range of resources, may serve you better.

Other Incidentals
There are other factors that must also be given consideration. When attempting to locate a female subject, it is possible that she may now be married and no longer be known or identified by her maiden name. There are also instances when a subject will go to great lengths, so as not to be found. (This is usually the case for subject's having serious debts)

Which Search is Best?
Skip Trace For Current Address
Requires subject's name, social security number and previous address.
Order when subject has recently moved.
Current Address From Telephone Number
Requires subject's current telephone number.
Order when current phone number is known.
Locate By Social Security Number
Requires subject's Social Security Number.
Order when subject's whereabouts are unknown for more than 3 months.
Locate By Previous Address
Requires subject's name and previous address within the past 7-10 years.
Order when subject's whereabouts are unknown for more than 3 months.
Name Database
Requires a minimum amount of information.
Order when subject's Social Security Number, previous address or current telephone number are not known.

Though considerably more expensive and unconventional in nature, the Skip Trace Search will provide the most up-to-date address. Next most effective is the Current Address From Telephone Number Search. Results returned from the Locate By Social Security Number and Locate By Previous Address
are obtained from national service bureaus. The first only requires the submission of the subject's Social Security Number, (so that's hard to screw up). The second is actually the same search, scanned in reverse. (The submitted name and previous address are scanned and compared to bureau records, seeking a match) However, there is very little latitude or room for error. To clarify this, here's an example:

Suppose you submit the following subject data, requesting their current address:

Beth Smith
123 Apple Grove Lane
Philadelphia, PA 19010

You might know her as "Beth", however the service bureaus likely list her name as "Elizabeth", thereby returning no match. The same principal applies to the street address. Submitting "Apple Grove Lane", will likely return no match, if the correct previous address was actually, "Apple Grove Road". Now, suppose Beth is now married, and her new surname is "Jones". See the problem?

The above example is provided as a worse case scenario, as often times service bureaus will truncate certain data and still find a match, thus returning the desired information.

Note: No credit history, ratings, assessments or financial data pertaining to the Subject, will be accessed or returned with search results.
